  • Lady Tigercats defeat Liberty Christian in league match

    The Lady Tigercats hosted two home games last week, earning a league win against Liberty Christian on Sept. 28. The game against St. John-Endicott on Oct. 1 marked the midway point for the team in league competition.     The Homecoming game between the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos and Northwest Christian Crusaders proved to be nail biter on Friday night. The neck-in-neck game eventually went in favor of the home team, 32-29, at Jimmie Snider Field on Oct. 2. The game began with an unexpected twist when starting quarterback Bryce Esser left warm ups and went to the locker room, returning later in street clothes.   • Pancake breakfast Friday

    The H.E. Gritman Senior Center will host its pancake breakfast this Friday, Oct. 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Breakfast will feature pancakes, a choice of ham or sausage and coffee with a suggested donation of $5 per person. The breakfast serves as a fundraiser for the senior center and is held the second Friday of every month, except during the summer. The H.E.     A new sandwich shop has opened in Lind with the slogan, “You can bank on our sandwiches.” Teresa Smith, who has been a Lind resident for 14 years, came up with this clever line as the restaurant she opened is in an old bank building. She heard the building located at 101 North I Street, which has been a bank its whole life, was going to be sold and gutted for the wood inside.
