  • To tailgate or not

    Dale Anderson|Updated Sep 22, 2016

I was at the EWU home opener on Saturday and what a tale of two halves. Eastern was behind 24-7 at halftime to Northern Iowa and it really didn’t look good for the hometown boys. The fans were a bit antsy to say the least. Most everyone wondered what happened to the team that beat WSU and took top rated North Dakota State to overtime on the road. All-American Cooper Kupp suited up but didn’t play because of a sprained shoulder that he injured in the NDS game. Coach Bal...

For Americans, two dates in our history hold special meaning for our personal liberties and for limiting the power of the federal government. July 4 is universally known because of the date’s association with the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Another foundational date that we just observed is Sept. 17, the day in 1787 when delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed the Constitution, which lays out the structure and limits of our federal government. One of the provisions in the C...

    Don C. Brunell, Business Commentator|Updated Sep 22, 2016

The new President and Congress face a day of reckoning next March when the limit on the amount of money we can borrow reaches the $20.1 trillion.
