The Ralston Grange will hold its first meeting since summer break on Tuesday, Sept. 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the hall in Ralston. Results of the bingo and food concession at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair will be shared. Ritzville will once again be the host city for the Reviving Rural Downtowns Workshop for third consecutive year, on Sept. 20-21. Hosted by the Adams County Development Council (ACDC), the event is a one-and-a-half day workshop where business owners and residents from Adams County and surrounding areas have the opportunity to learn about economic growth and ways they can improve their city. The Adams County Historical Society will hold their annual dinner and program on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Lind Community Church Fellowship Hall. Lind Calvary Assembly of God Church will be offering a new program, Calvary Kids, this year for students kindergarten through fifth grade. Students will learn more about the Bible and Jesus through music, activities and crafts. The fourth and fifth grade boys will also be working on Pinewood Derby Cars. During the Sept. 5 Ritzville City Council meeting, Mayor Gary Cook read a letter from Ritzville Fire Chief Bill Banner where Banner formally announced his resignation as chief and his employment from the department citing medical reasons.
