The 11th Annual Safety, Health and Wellness Fair returns to Pioneer Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is hosted by Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2. On Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m., the Ritzville Nazarene Church will host a concert with Brent Vernon, a writer, illustrator, and performing musician from South Florida. The East Adams County Healthcare Foundation will be having their annual Wine Tasting and Auction on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall with a theme of Margaritaville. The Foundation asks for those attending to dress in beach themed attire. The event will include a buffet, wine tasting and a no host bar with signature drinks. The Lind Calvary Assembly of God Church will be offering an after school program called Broadcast Kids for students kindergarten through fifth grade. The annual Lind Community Yard Sale has proved to be an enjoyable event where locals can sell items and interact with the community. Many residents begin preparing for the sale weeks in advance. The Ritzville Community Parade attracted a large crowd of onlookers on Saturday, Sept. 3, as they gathered on the sidewalks to watch 64 entries make their way down Main Avenue. The Second Harvest mobile food truck will be in Ritzville on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church at 206 South Division Street in Ritzville. When it comes to football you never really know what can happen on any give game day. Last Saturday, for instance, the Eastern Washington Eagles traveled to Pullman to take on the WSU Cougars. As everyone knows by now, the Eagles prevailed in a real shootout 45-42. WSU was favored by 23 points or so.
