    Tail Waggin Dog Park Club is hosting a public meeting to discuss plans to create an off-leash dog park in Ritzville. The goal is to construct a fenced and gated off-leash area for dogs to play and run in. The meeting is being held at the H.E.     The Ritzville Museum Volunteers will be hosting a free ice cream social on Sept. l0 at 2 p.m. at the Burroughs’ Home. The ice cream treats are free and tours are also free to those attending.     Inland Northwest Blood Center is returning to Ritzville for a Blood Drive at Lind-Ritzville High School on Monday, Sept. 19. The event is coordinated by the Lind-Ritzville High School Community Blood Drive Volunteers, who are led by Kerry Murphy. The Blood Drive takes place inside the hallway of Gilson Gymnasium.     According to a Washington State Patrol report, on Aug. 25 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Kalispel Tribal Police made contact with a suspicious vehicle in the Northern Quest Parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was attempting to remove license plates from another vehicle. Upon contact, the vehicle fled after colliding with the Kalispel Police vehicle and a pursuit began.     East Adams Rural Healthcare is moving forward with preparing for the potential conversion of the East Adams Care Center into a wing of the hospital and it served as the main point of conversation during the Hospital Board of Directors meeting on Aug. 22. The conversion is expected to occur Oct. 1, following the approval of the application through CMS.   • Local boy dies in tragic farming accident

    The community of Lind is reeling after a heartbreaking mishap claimed the life of eight-year-old Cole Melcher on Aug. 24. The accident occurred near Wahl Road, just north of Lind. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), Ritzville EMS and ACSO deputies received the call about the farming accident at 2 p.m. The initial call stated the boy had been run over by a tractor.
