Dorothy (Fenger) Tufts died July 28, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., due to respiratory failure. She was born Jan. 24, 1921, at Lothair, Mont., the daughter of Fred and Marie Fenger. She graduated from high school in Galata, Mont., and worked as a cashier in the local store. She married John Tufts on Nov. 16, 1944, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Aug. 16, 12:40 a.m. Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to the 400 block of West Eighth Avenue for a welfare check. According to the reporting party, a woman had taken a large number of pills. The female subject told Cameron they had taken 80 pills of some kind. Cameron convinced her to let him drive her to the hospital. You may have missed it, but amidst the global economic turmoil, riots in London and our volatile stock market, there is some good news. Boeing has completed flight tests on its long-delayed 787 Dreamliner and has asked the Federal Aviation Administration to certify the plane for production. The company is hoping to earn FAA approval in time to start delivering planes in September. Despite the delays, the 787 remains a major source of future income for Boeing. July 26, 2011 Arturo Brenes-Vidal pled guilty in Adams County Superior Court to one count of a felony driving while under the influence charge in a case filed on June 17, 2011. Judge Richard W. Miller sentenced Brenes-Vidal to 33 months with the DOC and nine to 18 months of community custody. Brenes-Vidal is responsible to pay $500 crime victim assessment, $200 criminal filing fee, $30 sheriff’s fees, $350 court-appointed attorney, $500 fine, $175 DUI fines, $100 crime lab fee and $100 DNA fee.
