    Dale Anderson|Updated Aug 13, 2015

Hard to imagine with all of the heat that we’ve had this summer that football season has crept up on us but it has. The Seattle Seahawks will be playing the Denver Broncos Friday night at Century Link Field in the first preseason game for both teams. The starters will probably only play a couple of series if that and the youngsters that want to fulfill their dreams of playing in the NFL will need to make big impressions to supplant some talented starters or even their b...

  • End federal funding for Planned Parenthood

    Updated Aug 13, 2015

What is a human life worth? The way a society responds to that question effectively describes the values held by that society. A just and healthy society should view innocent life as worth dignity and protection. The prospect of profiting off of another human’s life is repulsive because each person possesses an intrinsic moral value, not a commercial value. Horrifyingly, there are some today who actually place a dollar amount on the tissue and organs of unborn humans. The callus language used by Planned Parenthood o...

  • Presidential conventions have changed

    Updated Aug 13, 2015

My goodness, I am sure that there are many seniors who remember the good old days when each state sent delegates to the Presidential Conventions to nominate their party’s candidate. I remember this better than most seniors as I had a relative who was a delegate to the blue party’s conventions. They were chosen because of monetary donations and working hard to help get their party members elected to county and state offices. As I recall they spent a lot of time and money to acquire this prestigious honor! The conventions usu...

This has been a great summer! I hope all of you have had the opportunity to spend time with family and friends during this season. We had the chance to hang out with our family on the Oregon Coast. I stood and watched the waves come crashing to the shore. They continued to roll as the tide would come in and then recede. The night we arrived we went down to watch the waves and stroll on the beach. Our grandchildren were with us and wanted to run to the water.
