Public Works Director Larry Swift reported at the Ritzville City Council Meeting that evening the plumbing had been hooked up but the restrooms are still closed off.     Farm Service Agency Administrator Juan M. Garcia announced Friday, Aug. 1, that farmers should start receiving notices this month. The notices will update farmers on their current base acres, yields and 2009-2012 planting history. These updates are an important part of preparing for the safety net programs established in the 2014 Farm Bill.     Deadlines for entries to the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair are approaching quickly. Animal entry forms for the fair must be turned in by Aug. 15.     The Ralston Grange is operating a bingo and food concession at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair again this year. Additional volunteers are needed to fill the shifts from Friday until Sunday.     A rollover accident proved fatal Saturday evening on eastbound Highway 26, six miles east of Washtucna. The accident left one dead and two injured just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 2, according to the Washington State Patrol report. Fifteen-year-old Amber Johnson was driving the 2003 Dodge Caravan when she swerved, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times before coming to rest on the eastbound shoulder facing westbound.     Results show every levy on the Primary Election ballot passing with the required super majority vote with the exception of the Parks and Recreation District No. 2 maintenance and operation (M&O) levy for the Washtucna pool. All M&O levies must receive a super majority vote of 60 percent approval in order for them to pass.
