    Richard was born Aug. 4, 1938, to Robert and Helen Lawton in Ritzville, and died on July 24. He was raised on the farm 10 miles north of Washtucna on Rattlesnake Flats by Fletcher. He graduated St. Patrick’s High School in Walla Walla in 1956. He attended Carol College in Helena, Montana and graduated from the University of Portland in Oregon.     Gilbert LeRoy White, 82, died in Ritzville on July 17 after an extended battle with dementia and shortly after an apparent stroke. Gilbert was born in 1934 to Anna and Robert White on the farm north of Ritzville. He was the youngest of three children and joined his two older sisters, Vivian and Evelyn.     Darlene Virginia Lightbody was born on April 15, 1930, in Wenatchee to Harry and Mary (Kissler) Tompkins. She died July 10 at Eagle Springs Memory Care in Walla Walla. Darlene was known as “Dolly” in Hatton, Washington where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Lind High School with the class of 1948.     Adams County voters are reminded to return Primary Election ballots by Aug. 2 in order to be counted in the current election. Ballots can be mailed, or dropped off at the Adams County Auditor’s Office. Ballot boxes are also available 24 hours a day at Ritzville City Hall and Lind Town Hall. The Adams County Auditor’s Office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., and is located at 210 West Broadway Avenue in Ritzville.
