    Updated Jul 19, 2012

I was a busy trial lawyer in Whitman County for 31 years and served as Superior Court Judge in Whitman County for over 12 years, retiring in 2001. While serving as Judge, I tried cases in 13 Washington Counties, large and small. Judge Richard Miller is retiring. The candidates to replace him are Brian Miller and Randy Flyckt. It...

Civil experience as a trial Judge is critical as the majority of litigation that takes place in Adams County is civil in nature. I have observed Brian Miller in court on numerous occasions and believe that his courtroom experience and ability for exceeds that of his opponent who I never saw try a civil case. A Superior Court Judge must be a good technician of the law with a...

  • What to do about No Child Left Behind

    Updated Jul 19, 2012

Congress doesn’t seem to agree on how to handle the unrealistic and unpopular “no child left behind law” that came into reality in 2001. President Obama sees the 2014 date approaching and he must be assuming he will still be in office. He added eight more states and Washington D.C. to the 11 who no longer have to abide by the main tenets of the unpopular legislation. It is especially unpopular with the N.E.A. and the W.E.A.! The law requires schools to test students for math and reading annually in third through eighth grade...
