    Eric Walker states that ten million dollars sounds like a lot of money and then proceeds to try to convince us that it isn’t. Eric – it is a lot of money! Stating that it was more in the past does not change the fact that it is still a lot of money – today. Suddenly there are designs and plans for the proposed structure, why aren’t they listed in Resolution 13-03? I certainly don’t have enough confidence in the present commission to give them a ten million dollar, thirty-year bond without some direction on how to spend it....

    I didn’t sign the Declaration of Independence but I certainly do appreciate those who did. They had the foresight and wherewithal to make it all happen. None of my relatives came here until the late 1800s but they obviously knew that the good old USA was the place for them to make a good life.     The 2013 legislative session wrapped up – finally – on Saturday evening. It took a lot longer than it should have to negotiate a new two-year state operating budget; then again, we (in the Senate majority) were dealing with a majority in the House of Representatives and a governor who were obsessed with the idea of raising taxes.     May 31, 7:50 p.m. – Dispatch advised of juveniles skateboarding in the 200 block of West First Avenue. Officer Tom Gracie responded and located the juveniles skateboarding on the pavement in the parking lot of a local business. While talking to the juveniles, dispatch advised they had contacted a responsible party for the business who advised they did not want the juveniles there.     June 1, 4:46 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a stop sign down on West Urquhart Road and West Schrag Road. Deputy Dan Verhey located the sign and attempted to put it back in its location. Dep. Verhey forwarded the information to public works. June 1, 11:40 a.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of a silver Pontiac type vehicle driving at a high rate across both lanes of travel near the school on East Booth Avenue.
