    A Spaghetti Feed and silent auction event is scheduled on Saturday, June 23, in support of Al Hernandez. The fundraiser event runs from 1-3 p.m. at the Lind Elementary School. All funds are being donated to Hernandez to assist him with medical bills, due to his diagnosis of multiple myeloma.     NRG Renew LLC is hosting an informational open house meeting about the Rattlesnake Flat Wind Farm on June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ralston Grange building. The purpose of the meeting is for residents to learn more about the proposed renewable energy project in Adams County.     Community members and visitors are invited to travel to Washtucna to celebrate Independence Day and partake in several activities at Bassett Park. The day begins with the Firemen’s Breakfast from 6:30-9 a.m. The parades will begin at 10:30 a.m. starting with the kiddie parade, followed by the main parade.     The Lind Community Church will host the annual Picnic in the Park on Saturday, July 7, beginning at 5 p.m. at Lind Town Park. There event will include free hotdogs, chips, watermelon and refreshments. There will also be live music. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for seating.   • Lind to join Avista’s Solar Select program

    During the June 12 meeting, the Lind Town Council authorized staff to submit an application to join Avista Utilities’ Solar Select Program. Through the Solar Select program, Avista will provide renewable solar energy to large commercial and industrial electronic customers in Washington state.
