    Ritzville Grade School preschool students and their families participating in the “Raising a Reader” program are invited to attend a celebration for successful completing the program on May 21 at the Ritzville Public Library.     Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 4 recently announced the opening day for the Ritzville Water Park is planned for Saturday, June 8, from noon to 8 p.m. On Friday, May 24, the water park office will be open and offering a one-time discounted rate for family season passes. The discounted cost for a family season pass is $150. After May 24, the cost will be $175 for a family of five.     The Ritzville Public Library recently received the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) grant from the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to purchase a new computer and scanner.     Bob Tracy’s battle with Leukemia began a year ago. The fight continues as he and doctors at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) work to prepare his body for a bone marrow transplant. Currently staying in the Pete Gross House, Bob and Sandy Tracy have temporarily relocated to Seattle for what was expected to be a 120-day transplant process.     The Eastern Washington University’s Dean’s List for the winter term has been announced and lists 10 local students. Undergraduate students who earn 12 quality hours and receive a 3.5 grade point average or better, earns Dean’s List honors for the quarter.     An estimated 80 individuals from the local communities took to the streets in Spokane to compete in the 36th annual Bloomsday Run on Sunday, May 5. An overwhelming 47,841 individuals competed in the race. The youngest local competitor was one-year-old Jacob Bolin, Jr. from Ritzville.
