till working to rack up the first win for the season, but the team is measuring each game not by the win-loss column, but instead by the improvements made on the field. Around eight years ago the class of 1956 had a dream to get an all-weather track to replace the old cinder track at Ritzville High School. We all know the story backwards and forwards, but there was another dream that went along with the first one and that was to bring the Undeberg Invitational track meet back to where it belonged, HERE! Last Saturday morning the opening ceremonies took place about 10:50 with the color guard presenting the flags, followed by a brief story...
Each month I receive thousands of emails, phone calls, letters, tweets, and Facebook messages. Here are a few questions I have received recently: What is being done to hold former IRS official, Lois Lerner, and the Obama Administration accountable for their continued overreaching actions? When concerns were raised in that IRS officials were targeting conservative groups who were applying for tax-exempt status, several House Committees – including the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which I serve on – began ask...
Let’s face it. We’re spoiled. Even in our tough economy, most Americans enjoy a myriad of conveniences we take for granted. We awake to a warm house, turn night into day with the flip of a light switch, jump into a hot shower, get dressed and grab a cup of fresh brewed coffee before heading to work in our car or on the bus. On the way home, we stop at the grocery store to pick up a few items from the 40,000 choices offered there. What do all these things have in common? They are made possible by fossil fuels. But we have bec... Full story

Our city is equipped with two sirens, one located at the old Fire Station and the other in the City Park. During normal operations they will sound for one cycle at noon each day. In the event of an emergency we have the ability to cycle these sirens for two minutes. This alerts all our emergency service personnel to report to their assigned s...
