My youngest daughter works for a magazine as an art director. Her job is demanding, especially during certain parts of the month before publication. During a particularly long week, I walked with her and she was looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Scotty Baker on May 5 at 11 a.m. in the Ritzville Foursquare Church. There will be a potluck lunch to follow. Scotty died on Nov. 27, 2017. The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague tennis team faced tough league competition over the past week, losing matches to both Wilbur-Creston and St. George’s. The team is now preparing for the two-day Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane, both to gain experience and see how the team measures up with other area competitors. BENGE LIBRARY KIOSK. The East Adams Library District (EALD) recently installed a library kiosk for Benge residents next to the mailboxes on Benge-Winona Road. Patrons interested in participating in the service will be assigned a key and lockbox for the kiosk to use for picking up or dropping off materials. The Lind and Ritzville Cooperative School Districts have new nonfiction reading materials for students to check out from their respective libraries. The Lind Elementary School, as well as the Lind-Ritzville Middle School and High School libraries each received a $2,000 Refreshing School Libraries grants from the Washington State Library under the Office of the Secretary of State, totaling $6,000.
