The local U.S. Bank branch is now under the management of Brylee Edwards, who transferred to the Ritzville branch last December. Frederick T. Slonaker died at the age of 102 on March 17 at the Life Care Center in Ritzville. He was born on Dec. 27, 1910, to George Elmer and Bessie Alma (Griffee) Slonaker in Ancoma, Ill. He married Agnes Monson on Aug.19, 1938, in Havre, Mont. They lived in Montana where he worked in the gas fields, before moving their family to Ritzville in 1957. John Milton Kading died at the age of 68 on March 18 at his home in Chapala, Mexico. He was born June 21, 1944, near Lowell, Wisconsin and grew up on a farm. He graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1962, Lakeland College in 1966 and Eden Seminary in 1969. He followed his father into the Christian ministry. Like many of you I attended the memorial service for Dennis Koch last Saturday. Dennis was the long time music teacher at Ritzville High School. Mr. Koch graduated from RHS in 1957 and returned to his hometown my junior year in the fall of 1968. I only had one class from Mr. Koch and it wasn’t music related. The staff at Wheatland Bank welcomed David Meise as the new bank branch manager last month. Meise has spent the past three years working as a banker and recently transferred back to the Ritzville community.
