Fourteen acts will provide a solid evening of entertainment when the Ralston Grange hosts the “Puttin’ on the Ritz” variety show Friday night to benefit The New Ritz Theatre. A 25-year-old Yakima man died late Monday night following a single vehicle rollover wreck on Interstate 90 just past the eastbound Schrag Rest Area. The LRS Broncos’ baseball team has a season record of 6-6 after losing a doubleheader to Northwest Christian at home on Tuesday, 5-1 and 16-5. Yet again, I have been amazed by the generosity and ability of our communities to come together to do great things for children. Led by Tim Smith and Derek Schafer, over 50 volunteers came together on March 9 and 16, and many days after, in order to update the baseball and softball fields at the middle school in Lind. The Lind-Ritzville FFA chapter took two teams to the state agronomy competition and returned with the top two trophies, earning one team a trip to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., in November. Over 600 athletes packed the Medical Lake track and field facility to compete in the 8th Annual Undeberg Invitational, hosted by the LRS track team.
