I wasn’t sure if I was going to write about the Gonzaga Bulldogs this week or not because losses on Saturday for the women and Sunday for the men was really rough for a true Bulldog fan like me to take. I’m sure many of you feel the same way. Then I remembered going to Alaska in November of 2001 for the Great Alaska Shootout. At this tournament were both Bulldog teams. 2001 was the second year in Graves’ career at Gonzaga. The Zag women were 5-23 in his first season and 0-14...

An important part of serving in Congress is responding to questions from constituents on a range of topics, from Obamacare to national security and religious persecution abroad. I always look forward to hearing from constituents who contact my office by telephone, email, or letters. These questions often touch on important issues facing our country, and some deserve a wider audience, which is why I would like to share a couple with you. One retired constituent from Central Washington emailed my office with this question: How...
Ever since the $15 wage proposal was narrowly approved by City of SeaTac voters, municipal leaders in neighboring Seattle have pushed to impose the same edict. Starting April 1, large businesses in Seattle – defined as those with more than 500 employees – will be required to raise the minimum wage they pay their emplo...
Pastor Judith Rinehart-Nelson, Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ Scientist’s say that everything started with The Big Bang. There was nothing before and everything after. How else would God do it, who else could do it, everything came from God. At least that is what I believe. But, there was even a greater Big Bang; it started with a few words, “It Is Finished.” Jesus accomplished what he came to this world to do, and darkness fell, the temple curtain ripped and everything inside our souls changed. The first Big B...
