    The Ritzville Eagles Auxiliary and Aerie are gearing up once again for the annual Ritzville Community Easter Egg Hunt. This year the hunt will be held on Saturday, April 8, at the Ritzville City Park. The members of the Eagles will begin asking for donations from businesses and individuals.   • BBCC invites families to host Japanese ag trainees

    For the 52nd consecutive year, Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is participating in the Japanese Agricultural Training Program (JATP). Forty-three trainees arrived on the BBCC campus Friday, March 24, eager to begin their 19-month adventure in the United States. Trainees will spend their first eight weeks taking English as a Second Language classes at BBCC while receiving an introduction to American Culture and American Agriculture.     The Adams County Mosquito Control District will begin its early spring surveillance and larva control operation the week of March 27. It could continue into mid to late October depending on the weather. Two Biological products will be used, BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) and BS (Bacillus sphaericus), a growth regulator called Methoprene and a product called Agnique which is a Monomolecular Surface Film, this product has no water use restrictions.     The Ritzville City Council approved Ordinance 2106 pertaining to false alarms at the regular meeting on Tuesday, March 21. City Attorney Mark DeWulf said since they reviewed the ordinance at the previous meeting, the city made changes to the verbiage in order to be consistent throughout the document. The purpose of the ordinance is to reduce the number of false alarm calls in the city and waste of city resources by granting them authority to apply administrative action including fees.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague golf team traveled to Harrington to compete in the second league match of the season on Tuesday, March 21. With two members of the team gone on a school trip, the girls did not have enough players for a complete team, said Head Coach Nick Weishaar.     Emily Snyder Reid died March 18, at her home in Westsound. She was the first born of Ralph Snyder and Aimee Watters Snyder’s four children in Spokane on Oct. 7, 1919.     The annual Ralston Grange Easter egg hunt will be held at the Ralston Park on Saturday, April 8, at 9 a.m. A continental breakfast and games in the Ralston Grange Hall will follow.
