  • Othello welcomes Sandhill Crane Festival this weekend

    Othello’s 17th annual Sandhill Crane Festival is this weekend, March 28-30. The event includes numerous guided tours to view some of the thousands of sandhill cranes that visit the Othello area each spring as they migrate northward from their wintering grounds in California to the coast of Alaska, where they spend the summer. Their flyway takes them through the Othello area. The cranes stop at area cornfields to feed and regain energy before making the last leg of their journey.   • Countywide clean-up day slated April 5

    The annual Adams County free residential yard waste clean up day is scheduled for Saturday, April 5. The county transfer stations are accepting non-commercial green waste and loads of yard debris from residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 6. Appliances and electronics are also accepted free of charge at the transfer stations during the event.     The Eastern Central Washington Area Aglow International group is hosting the Spring Retreat on April 11-12 in Ritzville. The event theme for the year is “I Give You Life” and the registration deadline for the event is April 1. The event begins early Friday afternoon with a prayer and worship at the Ritzville Foursquare Church.     The annual Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) class is scheduled for Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at the Bronco Farm Supply. All 4-H and FFA members who plan on exhibiting a market animal at any fair or show in the State of Washington are required to attend a PQA (Pork Quality Assurance) class.     Three wins in four games means the LRS Lady Broncos’ fastpitch team is headed in the right direction.
