  • Jantz medals in first league golf match

    The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos golf team hosted a nine-hole league match on March 17. The teams competing in the league match were LRS, Northwest Christian, St. George’s and Kettle Falls. Tessa Jantz finished as the individual medalist in the girls’ competition with a score of 45. As a team, the Kettle Falls boys won and St. George’s girls won the match.   • Sandhill Crane Festival begins Friday, March 27, in Othello

    The 18th Annual Sandhill Crane Festival kicks off Friday, March 27, and goes through Sunday March 29, in Othello. Founded in 1998, the festival is designed to highlight the spring return of Sandhill Cranes to the greater Othello area and Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. The non-profit three-day festival includes lectures, tours, featured speakers, a silent auction and activities for children.     The first game of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos baseball was held Saturday, March 21, in Wilbur against the Wilbur-Creston Wildcats. In the first game of the doubleheader match up, Cort Ruzicka reached his 70-pitch limit by the third inning with six strikeouts, walked two and allowed only two earned opponent runs.
