  • In the driver's seat

    Dale Anderson|Updated Feb 19, 2015

There’s an ad on TV for a certain brand of pickup truck that I’m sure you have seen but may not have paid a lot of attention to. The ad shows this beautiful truck and the announcer in his most manly voice talks about this vehicle and says it has 850 (or so) pounds of torque. After listening to this ad several times I wondered to myself just how many people buy this truck because it has so much torque. I also wondered how much torque one needs to purchase a few bags of gro...

  • Obama on Wrong Track with Alaska Energy

    Don C. Brunell, Business Commentator|Updated Feb 19, 2015

Dear Friends, The first deadline for legislation to move forward is Feb. 20. Policy bills that don’t receive committee approval by then are likely “dead” for the year. The next deadline is Feb. 27, for the Senate’s budget committee and transportation committee to act on their lists of bills. The deadlines help explain why we are continuing to see major pieces of legislation emerge: in week 4 it was our Senate majority’s energy package, and week 5 has brought a statewide transportation proposal and a sensible new approach...

Increasingly so, technology is an essential tool for learning. While textbooks and novels continue to have prevalence within teachers’ curriculum, the role of technological resources is becoming more prominent.
