Carl Alvin Kron died at the age of 96 on Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Moses Lake. He was born July 19, 1916, in Loup City, Neb., the oldest of six children and grew up on the family farm. Elma D. (McRae) Moffat died at the age of 95 on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Bonney Lake, Wash. She was born Feb. 21, 1917, to William Alex and Anna Traynor McRae in Lantz, Wash., near Benge. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1935. In 1940, she married Alex Moffat, and the couple made their home in Seattle. To celebrate the 65th anniversary of its charter, Ritzville’s Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 2739, will host a celebration Saturday, Jan. 19. From 6 to 8 p.m., the club will serve a salmon Alfredo dinner for $12 per person. The meal will include broccoli, Caesar salad and cheesecake for dessert.
