    Council members approved a four percent wage increase for public works employees at their Tuesday, Nov. 25, meeting. This also included a $.50 an hour pay increase for the public works supervisor, for his spray endorsement. Additionally the council approved a wage increase of the Clerk/Treasurer position to $13.50 an hour.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos football team finished its season on Saturday against the Okanogan Bulldogs, after a 38-game winning streak as one of the top four 2B teams in the state. They fell to the Bulldogs 34-0 in their semifinals game in Moses Lake Saturday Evening.     After several years absence the Lind Christmas Bazaar is returning and with it the opportunity for area residents to complete their holiday gift purchases through local vendors and craftsmen.   • Ritzville Council adopts 2015 budget

    As the 2014-year winds to a close the Ritzville City Council adopted the Preliminary Budget for 2015 with one amendment to the budget on Nov. 18. In the budget the council approved a $5 increase to water rates, which was based on the increasing costs of the operation and maintenance in addition to the unknowns with the well project completion.     In May of this year Dr. Timothy Bryant transferred to East Adams Rural Hospital from Brewster after 12 years of family practice there. “It’s like going back 20 years, like when I was back in Glendale,” Bryant said.     At the regular meeting of the Lind Town Council on Nov. 11, the council approved multiple pay requests for the various ongoing projects in the town. With Stantec representative Alan Gay not present at the meeting, Mayor Jamie Schmunk presented the reimbursement requests to the council for their approval.     The Ritzville City Council approved the East Adams Rural Hospital’s request to close one block of Washington Street as a staging area for the construction, which is beginning Nov. 18. The street closure would primarily affect access to hospital owned property.     At the District Tournament on Nov. 1 the Lady Broncos got off to a difficult start losing their first match against the Reardan Indians in four sets. “We should have beat them,” Head coach Cari Galbreath said.
