The Birds of Play and Cool Threads 4-H Clubs met Saturday morning, April 2 at the Ritzville City Park for a photography workshop. Our teacher, Barbara Heimbigner taught us how to properly compose a picture so we could improve our future pictures. We learned about the rule of thirds and rule of golden triangles. Birds of Play 4-H club held a GPS meeting on Friday, Nov. 29, in Washtucna. The club had coordinates for five geocaches and followed the first one to Eternal Rest, Bemis Cemetery. Jake Sitton was able to tell us more about the early days of the cemetery. After locating the geocache and signing it we headed for the next one. Cool Threads 4-H Club hosted other 4-H’ers interested on learning to make duct tape flowers on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Ritzville Public Library. TyAnn Tellefson, a 4-H member from Warden, taught a group of 18 people to make duct tape flowers. The group ended up with a variety of decorated pens, barrettes, magnets and a ring. Members and leaders of Birds of Play and Cool Threads 4-H Club held a joint meeting on April 1. First they painted their outhouses and planters. Scott Hollenback reviewed the GPS with them, how to program and how to follow the information to find geocaches. The group then loaded up and headed toward Benge.
