Summer has waved goodbye, school bells are ringing and we at the library are diving headfirst into our jam-packed programming schedule. Get ready for a lineup of shiny new programs and the return of your all-time favorites — there’s a lot to get excited about. In September, we had the wonderful opportunity to host the Pacific Science Center from Seattle, allowing them to visit numerous schools in our service area. They brought along their Science on Wheels van, spending an entire day at each school and concluding their Phy...
In the enchanting realm of storytelling and exploration, I, Millie Hopkins, am thrilled to embark on a journey with you as your interim library director. I will be your guide through the vast landscapes of language and literature. This introductory column serves as a window into the world of words that I am passionate about, a glimpse into the pages of my own narrative and the world I love to share with you all. Our first YAC-run activity was yesterday with member Kelianne Swartz planning a Halloween party for our monthly Tween Zone. Next month, YAC member Henry McRae will be...
We offer so many different activities and programs at East Adams Library District for youth! This summer, we have daily activities for kids including GAMERZ, Lego Club, kid crafts, and free movie showings. On August 8, NASA Ambassador Joe Bruce will be here to show us what it takes to be an astronaut or NASA scientist, and on August 17 we’re hosting an Astronaut Training Camp at the City Park at 2 p.m. so kids can see if they have what it takes to make it in space. Kids earn extra tickets for our Summer Reading Club grand p...
