    The Tigercats played two regularly scheduled games and one rescheduled game last week. The Tigercats faced Colton, Touchet and St. John-Endicott, losing the first game against Colton, 39-65.     The Lady Tigercats played three games last week, winning one against Touchet on Friday night. The Lady Tigercats first played Colton, and lost with a final score of 4-65.     The Adams County Commissioners budget for 2012 shows relatively little change from the previous budget, mainly because of the current economy and it not being a time for drastic changes. “There is not a lot of change from last year, revenue is relatively flat, but flat is good during these economic times.     Superintendent of Lind and Ritzville schools, Rob Roettger, presented the proposed M&O levy for the Ritzville school district at the Ritzville Chamber of Commerce meeting on Jan. 19. The ballots for the special election regarding the M&O levy for both the Lind and Ritzville school districts are sent out on Jan. 27, for the Feb. 14 election. Whitaker decided to create the assembly for her senior project after witnessing firsthand the effect that bullying can have on an individual.     The New Hope Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services received a three-year grant in September from a donation from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that was given to the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV) to help prevent homelessness for survivors of domestic violence.     Micheala Doyle, a senior at Lind High School, is collecting eyeglasses for those in need of prescription lenses in the community. Doyle set up drop boxes for the eyeglasses at three locations, Jim’s Market, Ritzville Drug Company and Harvest Foods. The fundraiser began on Jan. 2 and the first collection will run until Feb. 2.     Washington State’s minimum wage increased by 37 cents on Jan. 1 to make the current minimum wage $9.04 an hour. This increase has made local business owners nervous and uncertain about the changes they might have to make in the near future. Sam Duncan, co-owner of Ritzville Drug Company, refuses to let any of his employees go, mainly because the store is currently being run by a total of five employees.
