    One week in Kentucky proved to be all the time Lind-Ritzville FFA chapter members needed in order to return home as Gold Emblem Teams at the 86th Annual National FFA Convention and Expo in Louisville. The Lady Tigercats honored two seniors, Lindsey Miller and Kadie Whinery, prior to the start of the match in LaCrosse.     The Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter took two teams to participate in the state Land Evaluation competition on Wednesday, Oct. 23, with one team returning home with the state title.   • Construction begins on ambulance building for nonprofit group

    Construction on the 1,200 square foot Ritzville Emergency Response Center that will be used to house the two primary ambulances in Ritzville has began on First Avenue. The Ritzville Volunteer Ambulance Association (RVAA) began collecting donations last October to move forward with building new facilities for the emergency vehicles.     A severe storm shook Ritzville Sunday evening and left a pile of destruction behind it. The storm hit the Ritzville area around 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 and brought sustained wind gusts of an estimated 60 miles per hour, which brought down trees and knocked out power throughout the city.
