    The Lind Town Council went through a light agenda at their Oct. 10 meeting. Council approved a contract for $2,850 to install a backup sodium hypochlorite system for Wells No. 7 and No. 8. Mayor Jamie Schmunk said she spoke with Water Distribution Manager Joe Pessutti regarding issues with chlorine and maintaining the levels for the wells.     The Broncos boys and girls cross country teams finished their regular season in the District 7 1B/2B race at Kettle Falls on Oct. 10. Rose Melville finished in fourth place in the girls’ 5,000 meters varsity race with a time of 21 minutes and 45 seconds. Although it was not Rose Melville’s best performance, Head Coach Liz Melville said the athlete ran a respectable race and felt she overtrained before the event.     The Ritzville Fire Department will be acquiring new equipment for one of its vehicles. At their Oct. 3 meeting, the Ritzville City Council allocated up to $10,000 for the Ritzville Fire Department to purchase six wireless headsets and two wireless base stations for one of the department’s trucks. Four athletes from the Broncos’ team competed at the District 7 1B/2B League race at Mary Walker High School on Oct. 3.     During their Sept. 26 meeting, the Lind Town Council approved an ordinance stating the Town of Lind will vacate Lafayette Road. At the July 27 Lind Town Council meeting, resident Jennifer Anderson requested the Town vacate Lafayette Road and make it a private road.     The Broncos Cross Country team resumed their season in a 2B League race held at the Tekoa Golf Course on Sept. 26. Rose Melville won the girls’ 5,000 meters varsity race with a time of 21 minutes and 57.9 seconds, 11 seconds faster than second-place winner Maia Dykstra of Asotin.     During their Sept. 19 meeting, the Ritzville City Council membersvoted 6-1 to approve an invoice from Specialty Pumps for $84,226.30 for the labor, materials and rebuilding the motor for Well No. 8.     During their Sept. 11 meeting, the Adams County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing regarding the draft of the county’s American With Disabilities Act (ADA) Self Evaluation and Transition Plan.
